It’s something they would never expect
“We just don’t hear such things and to come in from deer hunting and to hear and see something like this is a real shocker,” Albert Beverage said.
Residents in Marlinton are shaken up after a double homicide at a home off Stoney Creek Road. The victims names have not been released by officers, but Beverage tells me the victims were well know throughout the community
“To live by them for 15 to 20 years and to know them for 25 to 30 years, it’s just real tough you know what I mean,” Beverage said.
Many residents can breathe easy knowing the suspect, Aaron Bussard, is in police custody. Alleghany County Sheriff Kevin Hall says Bussard was captured Saturday after two citizens spotted him a gas station outside of Covington, Virgina.
Hall said said police stopped the 2007 Honda Pilot Bussard was driving and spent 2 and a half hours negotiating with him to try to get him out of the vehicle before hitting him with a stun gun and taking him into custody.
“I just hope justice prevails I assume,” Beverage said.
Hall said Bussard was armed with three firearms when he was stopped and threatened to take his own life.
