On Monday December 12, 2016, Princeton Firefighters were getting fitted for their new bulletproof vests.  The fire department received a grant months ago to purchase the vests.  They will be able to wear them within a few weeks after alterations are complete.  They have 13 bulletproof  vests for all on duty firefighters.  All of this is to protect firefighters on dangerous calls.

Captain Keith Gunnoe said, “It’s sad in this day in time that firemen have to resort to this.  There’s been increased attacks on firefighters while they’re doing their jobs across this country over the last few years.  We just felt like it was something needed to enhance the safety of our firefighters while they are out doing their job.”

Gunnoe said the fire chief will be writing a policy for when the men will be required to wear them.
