Students at Princeton Senior High School were left out of the solar eclipse fun. The school planned to let students view the eclipse on August 21st and ordered more than one thousand eclipse glasses from NASA.
According to Mercer County Schools Data and Information Specialist, Teresa Russell, the school received an email from NASA warning that some of the glasses may be ineffective. Russell said the school decided it was better to be play it safe and cancel the viewing activities.
“Some of the glasses they shipped to the school system may not be the authentic glasses and as a result for the safety and benefit for all students at Princeton Senior high school, all outside activities were canceled,” Russell said.
Students were notified of the canceled events on Sunday.
