First Baptist Church in Quinwood is teaming up with Crichton Elementary School to help the community.
The church has gathered loads of donated clothing. They are sorted and displayed inside Crichton Elementary schools cafeteria for anyone to take. Volunteers say the clothing is not just for flood victims, but for anyone in need, especially with the start of school just weeks away.
“It helps people out in a time of need, hard times. Everybody knows our main source is coal mining and there’s not a lot of jobs left around here anymore so it’s nice to help people,” says volunteer Jamie Ford.
The clothing, shoes, and toys will be available at the elementary school until noon on Friday.
