Raleigh County Board of Education nominates a new president

Raleigh County Board of Education nominated a new president on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

Current board member Larry Ford accepted the nomination, and Jack “Gordie” Roop accepted the Vice- President position.

Ford has been on the board for 11 years. He is replacing Cindy Jafrey, who resigned on August 25th for personal reasons.

Ford said he knows he has big shoes to fill,

“It’s a big job. A lot of people don’t think so but it really is. It requires a lot of attention. But I think I’m up for the job.”

The board of education is asking for those interested in the spot left vacant by Ford to send letters of interest to 1290 Beaver, WV 25813.
