This week, the Raleigh County Sheriff’s department is crossing county borders to train in Greenbrier County.
The Practical Firearms Training facility in Alderson has been the training grounds for a number of regional and international law enforcement agencies. This week, deputies are working on how to appropriately respond to an armed and active shooter.
Pat Goodale, owner of the training facility, says the need for this type of training is growing. He says, “our position is not a matter of if it will occur, it’s simply when and we would like to have our law enforcement personnel to be as trained as possible to quickly resolve these types of problems.”
The facility provides the deputies with moving targets, and a shooting house that allows them to conquer real-life challenges.
