Crews with Norfolk Southern Railroad will be working on a crossing starting early on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015. The work will cause the closing of one lane of traffic on the road at the bottom of Independence Hill at 6:30 a.m. The crossing will be completely closed at 8:30 a.m.
The closure is expected to last until around 2 p.m., but weather or unexpected difficulties could lead to delays. Travelers who use the road are asked to find a different route while the work is going on. The Coal City Fire Department said the closure will cause delays in the department’s response time to 911 traffic.
