There is a scheduled temporary water outage in Raleigh County starting Thursday, September 7. Water service for Beaver Avenue in Beckley from South Kanawha Street to South Fayette Street will be temporarily interrupted. The outage will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 am. Officials with Beckley Water Company said in a press release that improvements to the water system will be made.
Side streets that will be affected include Montgomery Court, Lancaster Street, West Virginia Street, Highland Street, Thomas Street, Grant Street and parts of Westmoreland Street. A boil water advisory will be in effect following the outage. Officials said residents and businesses should collect some water prior to the outage for both cooking and drinking, as well for sanitary purposes.
