Seneca Coal Resources purchased Pinnacle mining complex in Wyoming County in late last year. The company has since laid off employees due to the lack of metallurgical coal mark. A miner release company spokesman states
“However, with the continued deterioration of the world coal market, we must vigilantly work to exhaust all means available to further reduce our operating cost structure in order to remain a viable producer in 2016 and beyond. With this need, we are partnering with all stakeholders to reduce costs during these challenging times.”
Seneca Coal Resources, LLC is extremely optimistic on the future metallurgical coal market. By operatingin a safe, environmentally compliant and cost efficient manner, we will better able to provide stable employment for our employees.
