Black Friday isn’t the only day people will be out spending money. In fact, its Saturday that many small businesses are looking forward to. Small Business Saturday increases sales for local businesses. This Saturday marks the seventh year of this event. According to Forbes, there are 28 million small businesses, which is 54% of all U.S. sales. Edith McKinley, Owner of Edith’s Store, said “When you shop locally, the money stays in the community. When you shop here, then I go to the local restaurants, or I go to the theater, or I buy my things in the area, and the money goes round and round in the area. When you spend your money out of state or online, the money goes out of state and we never see it again.” Edith’s Store is open every Saturday and is in downtown Lewisburg.
