Suspects in custody in connection to November shootings

Four arrests have been made in connection to two different shootings that happened back on November 7, 2014. Detective David Allard has been the lead detective on the case since day one. After an extensive investigation, Detective Allard found that two shootings took place back to back in retaliation of each other. 


Kevin Tarell, 29, of Beckley told police his home was shot at so he and three of his friends got in a car and returned fire to the the mans home who shot Tarell’s home. Inside of the house they shot at were children, one of them was shot through his leg. 


Tarell was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, wanton endangerment, malicious wounding and being a felon in possession of a deadly firearm.


James Dewayne Thomas, 28, of Beckley is charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, delivery of a controlled substance, and being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon. 


Dewayne Alexander Jackson, 29, of Beckley is charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, delivery of a controlled substance, malicious wounding and wanton endangerment. 


Derrick Lee Hodge, 25,  is charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, wanton endangerment, and being a felon on possession of a deadly weapon.

After a long investigation, officials ended up finding hundreds of rounds of ammo and an AR-15 in Terrell’s home.
