A Raleigh County man accused of murder makes a plea deal on Friday, August 11. Tahim Simmons is accused of murdering Calvin Carlisle in August of 2016. Carlisle’s body was found in the backyard of his residence on South Fayette Street in Beckley underneath a pile of brush.
After rejecting his previous plea deal, he pleaded guilty in court to second degree murder and use of a firearm. Simmons did accept a Kennedy plea, which means he does not have to admit he is guilty to any of his charges. His sentencing trial is set for September 28.
