There is good news for one educational center in Mercer County. Thanks to donations from people in the community, the Wade Center in Bluefield will be opening on the 25th of this month. The Wade Center is a non-profit group designated to nurture youth in Mercer County. It was closed for five months due to funding issues.
Now it will open only allowing the first fifty children in first through fifth grade. They hope to allow more kids back in the future by raising more money. The Director of the Wade Center Jessica McDaniel is asking for volunteers due to a limited staff.
McDaniel said, “We have a mandatory parent/guardian meeting on next Thursday which is the January 21 2016, at six o’clock here in the auditorium. It’s mandatory and we will be taking the registration forms up at that time.”
They will be given out and completed during that time period.
