Thousands Without Power Thursday in Kanawha County

Kanawha County, West Virginia


Right now, AEP crews are working to restore power for 3,700 customers. Dispatchers tell us a transformer on



East End

is to blame for most of those outages.

Crews have been on scene all night working to make those repairs. There current estimated time for the power to be back on is currently

3 p.m.

Thursday afternoon.

Frontier Communications is also reporting that about 330 customers don’t have phone service right now either on



East End

. The power outage is effecting a phone switch.

Stormtracker meteorologist Bryan Hughes says it’s going to get up to 93 degrees today. If your power is out, you’re going to need to take steps to stay cool.
