To relocate lines, reduce leaks, improve service

WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) announced today that he has helped to secure an $881,000 grant for water improvements for the city of Welch.
This U.S. Agriculture Department will be used for the McDowell Street and Riverside Waterline Replacement project. Rep. Jenkins wrote a letter of support for the grant.
“Investment in water infrastructure is crucial for West Virginia’s rural communities. This project will allow the city of Welch to relocate its water lines, which will reduce leaks and improve service. This project is an important step to providing better service for the people of McDowell County, and I will continue to support funding that invests in rural West Virginia and improves the quality of life for all residents,” Rep. Jenkins said.
