Traffic alert for drivers in Greenbrier County Oct. 6th & 7th

The West Virginia Division of Highways is asking drivers in Greenbrier County to be prepared for possible delays on some roads Tuesday, Oct. 6th and Wednesday, October 7th. During this time, Dominion Power will be transporting a large transformer to Bath County, Virginia.

Motorists should be prepared for delays on the following roads:

  • Virginia Route 602 East
  • WV 311 North
  • I-64 East (between exits 183 and 181)
  • US 60 West
  • WV 92 North
  • US 39 East
  • Virginia Route 600 North

According to a press release from the Division of Highways:

“The transport will begin movement on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 9:00 

a.m. from Virginia and will travel up Route 92 to Neola, West Virginia.  On 

Wednesday, October 7, 2015, movement of the transformer will resume on WV 92 

North, US 39 East and Route 600 North, to arrive at the Bath County Pump Station 

by early afternoon.  Dominion Power will transport two additional transformers 

over the next two weeks; therefore, motorists should expect traffic delays.”

Dominion Power also plans to transport two additional transformers over the next two weeks, which may cause further delays.
