Troopers Release New Information In White Hall Walmart Shooting

Shoppers at Walmart in White Hall were put on lockdown inside the building just before 3:30 p.m., said 911 officials. 

The Marion County Sheriff’s department was at Walmart for the ‘Shop With a Cop’ event when officers were dispatched to the parking with a report of shots fired. 

According to a press release from the West Virginia State Police, two officers from different agencies were attempting to execute a bail piece on a felon.

The felon involved had operated their vehicle in an aggressive manner towards the officers, said Troopers. Two officers shot and killed the felon in order to stop the threat, said troopers

The names of the officers involved and the suspect have not been released at this time.

West Virginia State Police are investigating.
