Two people are arrested in Rainelle for abusing a four year old boy

Amanda Klebart and Brandyn Aleshire are charged with child abuse and neglect, and conspiracy after police received an anonymous tip that they were abusing a four year old boy. 

“Reported that he was grabbed by the neck. After the officers viewed the victim they called CPS, child protective services, they came down and there was enough evidence to remove the child from the home,” said JP Stevens, Rainelle Chief of Police. 

Police said they hit the child with a wooden board. Officers tell us the board has nails and staples sticking out of it. Officers tell 59 News the boy had marks on his body from being hit by the wooden board. 

Child Protective Services took the child from the home on Thursday (6/18/2015). Officers requested the boy receive medical care, but according to the criminal complaint the young boy has not received any at this time. 

According to the criminal complain Klebart said she got mad at the boy, and that is why she hit him.

The two were arrested on Friday (6/19/2015) and taken to the Southern Regional Jail. 

The boy is back in the care of his aunt.
