UPDATE: Driver in I-64 accident identified


12 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 UPDATE: 

Officials have released the name of the driver of a tractor trailer that went off the side of the road in the eastbound lanes of I-64 on Wednesday,  Gregory Paul Walker was injured in the accident that happened near the East Beckley exit.  He was taken to Raleigh General Hospital.  His current condition is not available at this time.

ORIGINAL STORY: Emergency responders are on the scene of an accident along Interstate 64.  It happened right around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.  According to Raleigh County Dispatchers, a tractor trailer lost control on the eastbound side near the Eisenhower Drive exit at Mile Marker 121.

Very few details have been released at this time.  Witnesses said he driver of the truck was trapped inside and emergency crews are working to get the person out.  The driver’s name and the extent of the injuries are unknown.  Right now all lanes of the Interstate are still open.
