UPDATE: Name of victim in Hinton shooting released


11:45 a.m. Aug. 20, 2015 UPDATE:

Police have released the name of a woman who was shot in Hinton on Wednesday night.  According to Hinton Police Chief, Derek Snavely, Arica Clark was shot three times.  She was flown from the scene in critical condition, but is now reported as being in stable condition at a hospital in Charleston, WV.

Investigators are looking for the shooter. The suspect is described as a white woman who drove off in a maroon sports car with two men. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Hinton Police at 304-466-4657.

ORIGINAL STORY: Hinton Police have confirmed that someone has been shot.  It happened at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at a home on the 100 block of Main Street.

We’re told a white woman is the alleged shooter.  According to police, the suspect drove off in a maroon sports car with two other men.  

The victim, who is also a woman, is in critical condition and a helicopter is on the way for medical transport.  We have a crew at the scene and will have more details as they become available.
