Update on Wednesday Night Hinton Shooting

Hinton Police are looking for three suspects involved in a shooting that happened Wednesday night on the 100 block of Main Street.

Arica Clark, the victim, was flown to Charleston General Hospital after she was shot three times. She is now in stable condition.

Hinton Police, State Police and the Summers County Sheriff’s Department responded to the shooting at her house. Jeri Jarrell, a family friend who shares the home with Clark, came face to face with one of the suspects.

“He looked at me like a deer in the headlights and I looked at him the same way back,” Jerrell says. “This ain’t right that I have to live like this. I have a really bad heart condition, you know, and I thought I was going to fall out because I wasn’t even sure exactly what had went on, you know? I’m just really scared.”

Derek Snavely, Hinton Police Chief, described the alleged shooter as a white, thin woman with blonde hair. He says they’re also looking for two white men. Snavely tells us the three suspects were driving a two door, maroon Mitsubishi or Ford car.
