UPDATE: Police searching for car after hit and run crash


UPDATE: Lewisburg Police Officers told 59News on Friday they’re searching for the driver of a car in a hit and run accident. Officers said the driver of a vehicle that hit a motorcycle head-on drove away from the scene of the crash on Thursday. The accident happened in front of Go Mart on Route 219.

Officers said the driver left the scene on US 219 southbound. The vehicle was described by witnesses as a new model two-door hatchback type car that is dark in color. The vehicle should have significant front end damage. Anyone seeing a vehicle matching this description and/or has any information in regards to this accident, please contact Sergeant Eggleston or Patrolman Williams at the Lewisburg Police Department at 304-645-1626.  

The victim is in critical condition. 

_________________________________________________An accident involving a motorcycle and another vehicle sent one person to the hospital late Thursday, June 18, 2015. The accident happened on Route 219 within Lewisburg city limits just before 11:30 p.m., dispatchers said.

The person was taken to Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. No word has been released on their condition or the nature of any injuries.

Fairlea Ambulance and Lewisburg Fire Department responded to the scene.
