WANTED: Royal Vance escapes from Beckley Correctional Center

Law enforcement officers are asking for help from the community to find a convicted criminal who escaped from the Beckley Correctional Center. Royal Vance, 39, was being held at the center on a one to 10 year sentence for Grand Larceny.  The conviction was out of Cabell County.  He was found missing from the facility on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015.

Vance, who also goes by the name of “Sean,” is a white man with red hair and blue eyes.  He stands 6-feet 2-inches tall and weighs 215-pounds. He has the following tattoos and scars.

TATTOOS:

  • Right Wrist – “Aron”
  • Inner Right Bicep – Face with bandanna holding a pistol
  • Left Back Upper Arm – Man holdin a street sign
  • Center Stomach – “Royal”
  • Left Front Forearm – “Soldier”
  • Right Front Upper Arm – “Smooth”/Joker Skull
  • Left Front Upper Arm – Tiger/Barbed Wire/Skull
  • Right Wrist – “Kourtnee”
  • Right Front Forearm – “STR”/8 Ball

SCARS:

  • Right Front Ankle
  • Left Stomach

Vance faces a charge of Escape from Custody of the Commissioner of Corrections. If anyone has information on Vance’s location they are asked to call 304-256-6780.
