Woman’s Car Overturned by Tractor Trailer in Mercer County


A woman is hospitalized after a tractor trailer hit the rear of her vehicle and flipped it over. The accident occurred on the I-77 northbound at mile marker 23, Tuesday at around 5:30 p.m. 

Sgt. John Alexander of the West Virginia State Police tells 59News the woman’s Jeep Patriot was disabled and partially blocking the right lane, when the tractor trailer pushed her car off the road and overturned it into the embankment.  

The woman was unconscious, but still breathing at the scene of the accident. A team from the Princeton Rescue Squad transported her to Raleigh General Hospital 

State Police are still trying to find out the name of the woman. 

“Basically we just need to identify who she is and contact her family to let them know where she’s at,” Alexander tells 59News. “That’s the main priority right now, getting her family notified right now to let them know where they can come and be with her.”

The tractor trailer involved in the accident belongs to Anmol Trucking Inc. The Anmol Trucking Inc. driver was not injured.
