WVU Marching Band to Play Benefit Concert at WV State Fair

The WVU Marching Band will be joining the West Virginia State Fair this year, for a special cause.

The Mountaineers will be putting on a benefit concert during the state fair. Many marching bands lost instruments, uniforms, and more in the floods of late June so, the money will go to helping bands that were affected by the flooding.

“We’ve seen the news about Herbert Hoover and Richwood not being able to open. I know a lot of kids here at Greenbrier East, they lost their instruments in the floods. So this will be a huge benefit for them and we’re so excited for it,” says State Fair CEO Kelly Collins.

The benefit concert is set for 1 in the afternoon on August 20th.  It will take place in the Bluegrass Bowl on the State Fair grounds. The concert is free with fair admission, but donations for flood victims will be accepted.
