David Horak is the morning anchor for 59 News, after originally joining the team in August 2017 as a reporter.
Originally from Grand Ledge, Michigan, David attended Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana, where he played football for the Crusaders and was thoroughly involved with their student-run radio (WVUR-FM) & television stations (VUTV). In May 2017, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media with a focus in Sports Broadcasting.
Throughout summer 2016, David interned at Nexstar affiliate WLNS-TV (Lansing, MI), where he covered amateur golf tournaments, local high school sports, and high-profile Michigan-based teams.
When not clocked in at 59 News, David enjoys hitting the gym, tasting local dishes, and cheering on his Crusaders, Michigan State Spartans, and Detroit pro teams. As a music man, he loves to sing, play the piano, and discover music new and old of all genres.
