Regina Gonzalez joined the 59 News team in July 2018 as a Multimedia Journalist, and is now on the desk part-time as the weekend anchor.
Born and raised in Long Island, New York, she ventured to the Sunshine State for college where she graduated cum laud with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in sports management at the University of Tampa. It was there that she received the Tim O’ Conner Award for meritorious service in journalism.
Throughout her college career, Regina had several media internships all over the world. She was a multimedia reporter and director for University of Tampa’s #1 News Source, The Minaret, and worked as a media relations intern for the New York Mets minor league affiliate, The Brooklyn Cyclones, during a summer back home.
She was also an intern general assignment reporter at Fox 13 Tampa Bay and traveled across the pond to Valencia, Spain as an intern reporter for IEI Media where she learned to shoot, write, and produce cultural stories and mini documentaries.
When she’s not running in heels with her camera and tripod, Regina loves to travel, cook, workout, go to music festivals, and enjoy the outdoors with her dog Kona!
