Throughout the Summer, I will team up with Billy Winters at The Greenbrier Golf Academy to develop a better golf swing. The weather is finally consistent enough to get out on the golf course and play a few rounds.
For the first episode, Billy wants to work on my take away. According to Billy, I displays a lot of lateral movement which can cause me to become off balance. When it comes to iron shots (in this lesson I was using a 7-iron) consistancy is extremely important, and that begins with good balance.
Billy also worked with me on taking a steeper swing at the ball and maybe making more of divot. I have always been a sweeper of the ball, but that can sometimes lead to hitting a shot thin or hitting a chunk.
If you’d like to find out more about the services that Billy offers, you can visit his page on The Greenbrier website.
If you’d like to sign your kids up for the First Tee, Billy works with young golfers in the Greenbrier Valley over at Lewisburg Elks CC.
