White Sulphur Springs CBD business booming with renewed license

Digital Desk

A White Sulphur Springs business is continuing to make green in the business of green.

Appalachian Extracts recently renewed their license to dispense and sell canabidiol, or CBD — a compound from cannabis that does not contain THC, the psychoactive ingredient found in marijuana.

Those who own the business also own the building, which took a hard hit in the Thousand Year Flood. Now, CEO Duane Zobrist said business is booming with CBD.

“All day, every day, we’ve got people walking into our shop,” Zobrist said. “They’ve heard we have a great locally produced product that they can trust. They come in and buy it.”

Aside from growing some of their hemp plants and extracting CBD oil, Zobrist is looking to give local farmers an opportunity to make a living off of this cash crop.
