MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Make room in the trophy case. JJ. Wetherholt claimed his second player of the year award.
The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced its nine district player of the year awards Friday. Wetherholt takes home the title for District II, consisting of schools in Connecticut, West Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Delaware and Washington D.C.
Wetherholt is the fourth WVU player to win the award, joining Jedd Gyorko (2009, 2010), Braden Zarbinsky (2017) and Alek Manoah (2019).
