UPDATE: One man dead, one arrested after a shooting in Summers County

JUMPING BRANCH, WV (WVNS) — UPDATE: Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020 4 p.m. One man was arrested after a shooting in Jumping Branch on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020.

Jimmy Dunford was arrested and charged with first degree murder. State police said Jimmy shot his nephew, after a dispute. He died on the way to the hospital.

Jimmy was arraigned in front of Magistrate Humphrey and is now in Southern Regional Jail.


JUMPING BRANCH, WV (WVNS) — Dispatchers confirm one man was shot in Summers County on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020.

The call came in around 6:02 p.m. Dispatchers said the shooting happened on Paul Lowe Road in Jumping Branch.

West Virginia State Police and EMS were dispatched. It is not clear on if there are any injuries or arrests at this time. Stick with 59 News as this story develops.
