Beckley Police offices may look a little scruffy in November, but the beards will benefit a good cause.  The Department is raising funds for WV Kids Cancer Crusaders during No Shave November.

The process is simple, officers donate their monthly hair maintenance expenses to the cause.  They will then let their beards grow from Nov., 1 to Dec. 6, 2018.  Photos of the beard growth will be updated weekly.

“The goal of No Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose and to raise money for a great organization,” said Beckley Police Chief of Detectives, Lt. David Allard.

To raise additional money, there will be a “best beard” or “favorite beard” contest.  Starting on Nov. 1 you can vote for your favorite online at BPDCancerCrusaders.com by making a donation.  A $1 donation equals one vote, $100 equals 100 votes.

WV Kids Cancer Crusaders is a community of children, families, individuals, organizations, medical professionals and caregivers with interest in creating awareness, advocating and providing support and resources for all those West Virginians affect by young adult, adolescence and childhood cancer.
