BEAVER, WV (WVNS) — One person is arrested after shots were fired at a Raleigh County motel.

The incident took place at the Patriot Motor Inn in Beaver last night. Raleigh County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene.  One arrest has been made.

Nearby tenants are still trying to piece together what they heard and saw.

“We were sitting there, eating supper, and we heard a loud gunshot. It’s kind of out of the ordinary. We looked outside, seen some people kind of scattering about,” Greg Simmons, who was staying at Patriot Motor Inn during the shooting, said.

The identity of the arrested suspect has not yet been released, as the incident remains under investigation.
