Through the winter months, norovirus is a bug of which to be weary.
Local physicians told 59News when it comes to norovirus, your upper respiratory system, GI system, and stomach are effected. Anyone with norovirus can be contagious for a few weeks after catching it.
Dr. Johnny Walker said they are seeing a few cases as winter rolls on. While anyone is able to catch norovirus, Walker said there are ways to stay safe and keep from catching it.
“The best thing you can do with preventing norovirus or any kind of virus is making sure to hands well, especially if you know someone who’s been diagnosed or is showing symptoms,” Walker said.
Walker also said keeping things clean is the best way to avoid catching norovirus.
