BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — If you go by the Raleigh County Courthouse, you may have seen a new addition to the front of the building.

The Raleigh County Commission put up a handicap accessible ramp in the main level of the courthouse. However, the ramp is there only temporarily, because right now the elevator is under construction.

They will be upgrading the elevator, according to Raleigh County Engineer, Detlef Ulfers.

“The elevator will be down, basically being rebuilt, and renewed to a more modern elevator, and that will take two months or so,” Ulfers said.

The ramp will be taken down once the elevator is done being worked on in approximately two months.
