A Raleigh County hospital is doing what it can to recognize nurses who give so much of themselves for others.
On Monday, Beckley ARH launched their DAISY award. A DAISY award is part of the Worldwide DAISY Foundation that recognizes nurses with extraordinary stories that are told by their patients. Patients nominate nurses that have impacted their hospital stays and then once every quarter hospital administrators choose the nurse with the best story. Winners will receive a trophy and all nurses nominated get a DAISY pin.
“We hear stories everyday about how good of a care our nurses do and staff does for their patients so this is just a way to recognize them,” Nursing Educator, Melissa Ramsey, said.
There are drop boxes located around Beckley ARH where you can share your experience and nominate a nurse you had a special experience with.
