BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — A Beckley man is facing criminal charges for breaking in to the West Virginia Soccer Association building and then a home.

Police said they were called to a home on Timberland Road December 16, 2018 for a burglary complaint. When they arrived, they found Tom Andrew Lewis III pinned down by the homeowner in the middle of the street. Court documents state Lewis was partially naked, only wearing boots and a jacket with soccer logos on it.

The homeowner told police Lewis broke into his home and punched him in the face. The victim then pinned Lewis to the ground until police arrived on scene.

Because of Lewis’ clothing, police responded to the WV Soccer Association building. Police said it was evident someone broke in because clothes were scattered across the floor.

Lewis was taken to a hospital and was arrested on Wednesday, December 27, 2018. He is in jail on a $100,000 bond.
