People looking to learn how to write software code have an opportunity this summer.  New River Community and Technical College is holding a coding boot camp in July

The 16-week course begins on July 17, 2018.  Students will meet at New River CTC’s campus in Beaver on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  As the class progresses meetings will be held through video conferencing.

This is the third boot camp the college has offered.  Instructor Patricia Hoover developed the class to meet the demand for developers with a regional employer.

“There is a need for this skill set in our region, and we’ve been working with a company that needs trained employees,” said Hoover. “As students have successfully completed the class at New River CTC, they’ve had the opportunity to interview for a paid apprenticeship.”
