Raleigh County Board of Education has members re-elected after May election

BECKLEY, W. Va. (WVNS)– Raleigh County Board of Education incumbents are all re-elected during the 2018 West Virginia Primary Election. 

Current board president Larry Ford and current members Charlotte Hutchens and Marie Hamrick were all re-elected to the Raleigh County Board of Eduction. 

Charlotte Hutchens from District II said she is grateful for the support.

“I want to continue to work for the students and the parents and the employees of Raleigh County cause I think we are very very blessed, we have wonderful employees and students. And I just want to try a do my very best for all of them,” said Hutchens.

Marie Hamrick who was appointed a position on the board in 2017 to fill a vacant spot will also return to the board.

“The public needs to know Raleigh County schools are in a very good position. I think our schools are all really good. Our teachers, service personal, so we are a cut above a lot of the other counties. I’m just really proud of that. Were going to keep on that same road and continue to improve,” said Hamrick.

The next step for the Raleigh County Board of Education is to have their budget meeting on May 9, 2018. They will also vote for a president of the board in July.
