State Troopers make cocaine arrest near Beckley

Troopers with the Parkways Division of the West Virginia State Police made a drug arrest on Friday, May 18, 2018.  It began when investigators spotted a suspicious vehicle in a secluded area near Fitzpatrick Park.

According to a release, Sgt. S.A. Bowers approached the vehicle and was able to see evidence that the people were using drugs.  That is when his K9 partner “Thor” was called in.  The dog was able to find cocaine in the vehicle that was estimated to be worth $4,800.  There was also two handguns.

Brian Ruffin, 34, of a Beckley. WV and Kayla Williams, 43, of Artie, WV were arrested.  They are facing charges of possession with intent to deliver.  They were arraigned and released on $25,000 bond each.
