Third annual Causeacon proved to be very successful

Raleigh County

It was a weekend full of art, games, and cosplay! Causeacon Chairman Desiree Christian told 59 News that she was proud of how Causeacon went, from the events being full to the panels going well and costumes being creative.

She said that even though they don’t have all of their final numbers, the money raised for the Women’s Resource Center met expectations thus far.

Now her and her team are gearing up for a similar event coming this summer called the Beckley Gaming Expo.

“It’s two days of video games, arcade games, table top games and more,” Christian said. ‘We’re trying to create a more competitive styled event.”

Christian stressed that the Raleigh County Convention Center came up with the idea, and that she and her team will be working to put on the event this July.
