UPDATE: Deputies arrest man who burglarized Crab Orchard home

Deputies have found a man wanted for burglarizing a home on Wilcox Avenue in Crab Orchard. They arrested Joseph Buckland after discovering his car was stuffed with stolen items. 

Officers also discovered a lawn mower in his car, which they said he had stolen from another home in the area. 

Buckland was also wanted for escaping from home confinement.  He is facing several charges including burglary and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. 


CRAB ORCHARD, WV (WVNS) — What was supposed to be a fun afternoon for a family in Crab Orchard ended with them discovering their home had been ransacked. 

Ashley Pittman told 59 News a thief broke into her home while she was at the movies with her husband and two young children. A man driving a silver Chevy Trailblazer and wearing a red sweatshirt was caught on a neighbor’s surveillance camera using a crow bar to get into the home on Wilcox Street Sunday, May 5, 2019. 

Pittman said their home was ransacked. The suspect stole several items from the home including jewelry, kids toys, a wedding dress, clothes, electronics, car keys, tools and a shotgun. The family is offering a cash reward.
