UPDATE: Robert C. Byrd Drive back open following accident involving semi

MABSCOTT, W. Va. (WVNS) — All lanes of Robert C. Byrd Drive are back open following an accident involving a semi. 

One person was injured in the accident. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. 


MABSCOTT, W. Va. (WVNS) — Traffic is backed up along Robert C. Drive following an accident Wednesday morning. All lanes are closed as crews work to clear the scene. 

Dispatchers said the accident happened around 6:20 am near Barker’s Junkyard in Mabscott. 

59 News has a reporter on the scene. They report the accident involved a semi and pickup truck. 

Dispatchers said injuries were reported but the number and extent is unknown at this time.  

Beckley Fire Department, Beckley Police and Jan-Care EMS are on scene of the accident as of 7:30 Wednesday morning.
