The West Virginia Miners baseball season opened on Wednesday May 30 against the Kokomo Jack Rabbits.

Fans will see some familiar faces on the team, with many of the other players spending their first season in a Miners uniform.

Director of Marketing, Jim Holland, said there are a few new things to get fans involved during the games this season.

“Well right out of the gate, we have a new thing this year. It’s interactive, they can play our phone app or online with every player and every hitter, win prizes for predicting what hitters can do. That’s big. We are also video streaming now nation-wide all Miners games home and the road,” Holland said.

Holland said with their field being artificial turf, it allows for them to play, rain or shine.
