This week, the Youth Museum of Southern West Virginia is offering an art camp, which is put on by teacher Rebecca Beckett. Students will get to work with everything, from clay and pottery to painting and collages.

Leslie Baker, Director of Parks and Rec, said kids will even get to enjoy nature during the classes.

“They also go for a walk through the woods and find different nature things to make collages out of,” Baker said. “They play some games, they go up into the park. We ask that they bring a brown bagged lunch and it’s just a real fun day.”

This camp is the first of two offered during the summer at the youth museum. The second youth camp begins July 15th. If your kids may be interested in attending one of the camps, you can contact the youth museum for more information at (304) 252-3730.
