Regina Gonzalez

Regina Gonzalez

Regina joined the 59 News Team as a reporter/MMJ in July of 2018.  Although born and raised in New York, she ventured to the sunshine state for college where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in sport management from the University of Tampa. There she was the recipient of the Tim O’Connor award for meritorious service in journalism.

Regina has had a passion for reporting for as long as she can remember because it allows her to continuously meet new people and hear their incredible stories. During her career at UT, her internships and experiences in broadcast allowed her to cover these stories all over the world.

While working as a multimedia journalist/director for Tampa’s The Minaret campus news organization, Regina interned as a general assignment reporter with local news station WTVT Fox 13. In the summer of 2017 she flew overseas to intern as a video journalist with IEI media to help create media content and documentaries on Spanish news and culture in Valencia, Spain.

Regina also has experience in sports after working as a media relation intern for New York Mets’ minor league affiliate the Brooklyn Cyclones during the 2016 season and interning for a Yankees scouting magazine in 2015.

When she’s not running around in heels with her camera and tripod, Regina enjoys traveling, being outdoors, dancing at music festivals, going to the gym and facetiming her fluffy dogs Maui and Mango. If you have a news tip, you can contact her at
