SPRINGDALE, WV (WVNS) — Troopers with West Virginia State Police said a body was found in Fayette County on Tuesday, May 29.
Police said they believe it is the body of a missing person from that area.
Investigators told 59News that a forensics team with West Virginia State Police was called to the scene on Irish Mountain Road near Springdale.
The remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
The body has not yet been identified, and few details have been released about the case. The Rainelle detachment of West Virginia State Police is leading the investigation.
