BRADLEY, W. Va. (WVNS) — Bradley-Prosperity Volunteer Fire Department’s Fire Chief, Bruce W. James, announced he is resigning from his position due to health problems. James made the announcement on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at a board of director’s meeting. 

The department said James will always be a lifetime member of the department and will remain as the President of the Corporation at this time.  Chief James is the longest serving Fire Chief since the department opened its doors more than 40 years ago.

The department announced Bobby C. Palmer will be the interim Fire Chief until the Board of Directors fills the position.
