ATHENS, WV (WVNS) — After much anticipation and extensive renovations, Concord University opened its new on-campus health center.
On Wednesday, administrators greeted guests at the ribbon cutting in front of Wooddell Hall, which was a men’s residence hall prior to the university’s decision of utilizing its first floor as its medical center.
For any students needing to see a nurse for certain medical needs, Dr. David Campbell, Concord’s Director Medical Services, believes this will be a convenient on-campus location for them.
“This addresses the student health needs in a wholistic manner for both preventative health services and acute care services,” Campbell said.
Only Concord students will be able to use the health center, which is open on days when classes are in session. It will begin taking walk-in’s and appointments Sunday, September 1.
