Crews respond to accident involving tractor-trailer on I-77 North

MERCER COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — An accident involving a tractor-trailer shut down one lane of I-77 North in Mercer County.

According to West Virginia 511, the accident happened at mile marker 18 on the northbound side of the interstate. West Virginia Turnpike dispatchers confirmed it was a minor wreck involving a semi truck and a passenger vehicle.

One person was hurt, but the severity of their injuries is unknown.

West Virginia State Police and crews with Public Service Commission and local EMS are at the scene.

As of 7:30 a.m., Turnpike dispatchers said the left lane of I-77 North should be reopened in the next hour.
